Charity Shops

Our charity shops provide a vital source of income for Age Action they also provide a number of distinct services, such as: low-cost goods, Information centres, flexible employment opportunities, recycling facility, and a base for social contact through a variety of activities, including coffee mornings and volunteer days.

The shops rely solely on the generosity of the public and we would like you to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support and ask you to keep donating clothes, bric a brac, books and household wares.

If you have any unwanted items of clothing or other household goods please contact your nearest Age Action shop, full details below.

Please note that we cannot accept all kinds of items. Check here to make sure we can take your donated goods (PDF, size 123KB).

As part of the recycling service, we operate a door-to-door service and a telephone collection service for household clear outs and donations. These items are then sorted, steam pressed, sized and priced. The garments are then displayed on the shop floor for sale. Any clothing we cannot sell is recycled onto a textile merchant, so all garments you donate raises income for the charity shop.

We are a member of the Irish Charity Shops Association whose main aim is to pool expertise and join forces to promote common interests, and to help members run their shops more effectively and efficiently. Please look out for the ICSA logo, which is displayed by all members in their shops and also on the collection bag that you receive through your door. Be aware of bogus collectors and if in doubt ask to see the logo.
