More than just a cup. Whether you are a group of friends, colleagues, neighbours, you can host your own Time for Tea and help change the lives of older people around Ireland.

More than just a cup. Make a difference over tea.

Whether you’re a caring neighbour, a community champion, a workplace team, or simply someone who wants to bring people together, hosting an Age Action Time for Tea is a simple and enjoyable way to support older people across Ireland.

Gather friends, family, neighbours or colleagues for tea, coffee and conversation while raising vital funds to help Age Action continue its work supporting older people to live with dignity, independence and connection.

Every cup shared helps create positive change. Whether you host at home, at work, in your local community or favourite café, your Time for Tea event can be as big or as small as you like

How it works

Choose a day and time that works for you. Time for Tea can take place throughout the campaign period, so you can host whenever suits you and your guests.

Host your event wherever feels right:

  • At home with family and friends
  • In your workplace with colleagues
  • At your local café or community centre
  • In your school, club or organisation

The choice is yours.

Bring together the people in your life—friends, family, neighbours, workmates, school parents or members of your sports or social clubs.

Send invitations by email, text or social media, and don’t forget to include a link to your fundraising page so those who can’t attend can still support your event.

There are countless ways to make your Time for Tea memorable. Decorate your space, organise a bake-off, invite guests to share stories and memories, hold a quiz, or simply enjoy great conversation over tea and cake.

Every event is unique—and every euro raised helps Age Action support older people across Ireland.

Hints and Tips

Hosting a Time for Tea couldn’t be easier. Here are a few simple ideas to make your event a success.

Keep it simple

You don’t need a big venue or elaborate plans. Tea, coffee, a few treats and good company are all you need.

Spread the word

Invite friends, family, neighbours and colleagues. Share your event on social media and encourage guests to invite others.

Set up your fundraising page

Create your online fundraising page before your event and include the link in your invitations. This makes donating quick and easy.

Add something extra

Why not include:

  • A bake sale
  • A raffle
  • A quiz
  • A games afternoon
  • Live music
  • Storytelling or memory sharing
  • A themed afternoon tea

Encourage cashless giving

Many guests prefer to donate online using their phone. Display a QR code or share your fundraising page throughout the event.

Say thank you

After your event, thank everyone who attended, donated or helped organise your Time for Tea. A simple thank you goes a long way.
