Trade Referral
For any job that is too big for our Care and Repair team to do, we can provide names and numbers of Tradespeople in Dublin, Galway and Cork.
Tradespeople on the Trades referral list have provided us with copies of their insurance and have signed up to our Code of Conduct outlined below.
Please note, Age Action does not take responsibility for the work completed by anyone on the Trades referral list. We will always give at least two numbers of different Tradespeople and encourage you to call and get a price that you are happy with before letting any work go ahead.
Advice for dealing with Tradespeople:
- Ask for a written quotation for the work, including a description of work to be done and a price including labour, materials and VAT.
- For large jobs, get quotations from at least two tradespeople.
- If you are happy with the price and the person, go ahead with the job. However, if there is anything you are not happy with or if you don’t want to do the work immediately, there is no obligation to proceed.
- Do not pay for the work until the job is complete and always ask for a receipt when you make payment.
- Do not allow a tradesperson to start work unless the full price for completion of the work has been agreed.
