Charity Stores & Showroom
The essential role of the Charity stores and showroom team is to generate independent funding for the core activities of Age Action. Currently there are seven charity stores and a showroom facility along with a full stock collection and delivery service. The Head of Retail has overall responsibility for the charity stores, showroom and stock collection and delivery service.
The retail store manager will be responsible to the Head of Retail for the ongoing success of the store in Terenure. The main focus will be to maximise sales, increase profits and promote customer service. The retail store manager will be responsible for creating a shopping experience that will meet and exceed our customers’ expectations. The manager will also be responsible for inspiring the team, leading and developing them to achieve outstanding results.

We are looking for an experienced Retail Store Manager to oversee the daily operations of our store and to ensure the smooth running of operations to maximize sales and minimise costs. The ideal candidate will have experience as a retail store manager and knowledge of diverse business subjects such as sales and marketing. The goal is to manage our store in ways that boost revenues and develop the business.
Required Qualifications and Experience
To succeed in this role you will need to have a minimum of 3 years retail management experience in a fast moving retail environment. Proven experience as retail manager or in other managerial position
- Knowledge of retail management best practices
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- Excellent organising and leadership skills
- Commercial awareness
- Analytical mind and familiarity with data analysis principles
Conditions of Service
This is a permanent position subject to probation period of six months. The person appointed must be flexible regarding working hours to include weekends. The post is based in Terenure.
Competitive salary offered depending on qualifications and experience. In addition the successful candidate will be included in the Company’s Death in Service Benefit Scheme and Employee Assistance Programme. They will also eligible to join the staff pension scheme after successfully completing their probation.
