“We all get gifts that are not suitable,”Age Action spokesman Eamon Timmins said. “Whether it is a jumper or blouse, a piece of jewelry or a DVD, rather than leave it sitting in the bottom of the wardrobe for the next 12 months, please consider donating it to an Age Action shop.”

Budget reaction: Fuel Allowance cut to hurt the poorest of older people

“To cut the fuel allowance by more than 20% is going to create huge hardship among the most vulnerable of older people,” Age Action spokesman Eamon Timmins said. The Government announced today that the means-tested payment – which only went to those on lower incomes – would be paid over 26 weeks, compared to 32 weeks last year.
Leixlip IT show to introduce older people to huge benefits of technology

Try IT! will be a day-long event at the Courtyard Hotel, Main Street, Leixlip, Co. Kildare, on December 8. It follows on the success of Try IT! shows organised last month in Dublin and last year in Celbridge by the older people’s charity.
